I know this has been discussed in the past, but I can't remember and I
don't know how to look this up. A guitarist friend of mine was asking why
the clarinet is "Bb" and not "c". Couldn't we have shifted the notes
somehow-after all, most of the instruments are "c"? If anyone would take
pity and briefly explain this again.
