Subj: Who am I and circular breathing

Hi everyone! I'm new to the list so let me introduce myself first...my name
is Meg, I'm 17, and I'm a senior in high school. I mostly play flute, but I
want to go into music ed at Furman U :), so I'm beginning to play around with
the clarinet. Unfortunately, I can't play around too much because I have
flute auditions in January, but I'm still going to cheat a little. ;) I
probably won't have much to say due to my VERY beginner status, but I wanted
you to know who I am before I continue my lurking...:)

Anyway, there was a question about circular breathing. I really can't do
this myself (yet), but I went to one of Robert Dick's workshops a couple of
months ago and he demonstrated how to do it, including steps and everything.
He plays flute, so the description would be slightly different, but still
relevant. When he blew out on the flute, he stored some air in his cheeks.
Then, when he needed some air, he forced the stored air out while he took a
quick breath through his nose. He gave very good details (I even have notes
on it), but I'm not sure I could explain them correctly. Anyway, if you're
interested in learning how to do it, he has a book on it. (I'm getting it
for Christmas...:) Plus, if you want more details, I can find my notes and
give you what I have. Are there others on the list that can do it?

:),
Meg
