I have been playing a Yamaha bass for about one year and I love it
for the same reasons Scott has mentioned. The thumb key mechanism, for
me, seems a better design than Selmer or Buffet. The sound and
intonation were so good, I found myself saying, "What more do you
want?" So all in all, the price was much lower (almost $2000) with no
compromises.
(By the way, I have always played Buffet Bb and Eb clarinets as I have
found them far superior to any others)
