Ryan,

The added embellishments you ask about are from what I believe was once
THE standard N.American edition/s, mostly I think from Cundy-Bettoney.
Any or all of these can be added, or not, as you think the level of
floridity in the music already there justifies. However, I'm fairly sure
the turn in m.24 when done has a C# below the D main note, despite the
coming high C natural. I don't usually do any of these now, except the
final run, which seems a lot more exciting than 2 notes! I recommend the
International edition (edited Reginald Kell); I know it's older, but has
good page turns, and generally agreeable articulation, which on the fast
runs you should feel free to edit to suit your current ability (ie.2 and
2). I like the Pam.Weston edition for its cadenza sheet (she includes
Heinrich Baermann, the dedicatee's, cadenza) but don't like the 2
clarinet-stave score for the pianist.

Also beware older editions than this, which have an extra (and I think
most agree unneccessary) repeat added in to the second variation at m.1O3
(the International edition takes this out).

Good luck on a great piece!
Peter
