Klarinet Archive - Posting 000512.txt from 1996/12

Hi Nathaniel,
I had mentioned this a couple of months ago in a post to Greg Baker, I
believe. Unfortunately I could not find the recording at home (maybe I
never had it!). It's of Richard Stoltzman performing this piece with
the Mostly Mozart Orchestra. He includes a really nice cadenza; it's
almost at the end of the piece, and segues right back in where it left
off, only instead of following the printed solo part, it goes up
chromatically to high c (c 4). Very effective! I transcribed the
cadenza for my own use about 10 years ago or so, but when I looked, I
could not find the manuscript paper in with my solo part. So I would
suggest looking for the recording. Perhaps your local classical radio
station could help out with this ... the ones I've asked for help have
always been most accommodating.
