I was very happy to offer my experience to the list regarding
a comparison of the Selmer 37 and Buffet Prestige bass clarinets.
Several of you responded publicly and privately to my recent
post on the subject -- much to my gratification -- asking for
elaboration as well as further input on related topics. Un-
fortunately, I leave for Germany tomorrow afternoon and will
be unable to "respond to the responses", as it were. I'll be
gone for three weeks and will be signed off of the list
during that time. May all of your holidays be healthy and
warm, with a bright and shiny 1997 ahead. I'll "see" you all
in the second week of January.

Meanwhile, for those of you who desire a well-grounded and
credible opinion regarding bass clarinet issues, I recommend
my own technician, who is a regular contributor to the list:
Clark Fobes. You may reach him privately at reedman@-----.com,
although it might be better to simply include his name in your
subject line, such that his response is available to all members
for the greater benefit of the list regarding your sundry questions.
