Hi Leigh Anne,
I agree with David that Vandorens are the better brand of reed these days.
But if you really want to get the best tone quality, I would recommend
Vandoren V-12's (the gray box) because the have a thicker cane heel and I
find quite a bit better than the regular Vandorens. They usually run about
$25.00 per box retail but if you orer them forma catalog you cna get them for
about $16.00. If you really wan to get professional you can also try Grand
Concert Series reeds and they run about $15.00 for 5. They are really good
but really expensive. Another thing to consider is that some of these types
of reeds may not be the most compatible with your mouthpiece so it's up to
you to experiment and find which is most compatible. I hope you find what
