This gibberish is a MIME encoding (Multipurpose Internet Mail
Extensions) that Microsoft Mail has. Internally on a network MS Mail
sends in binary; outside it sends in ASCII. It contains a mail header
and the message. Some gateways strip it off outgoing messages
before it hits the Internet; others don't. It can be safely ignored.
Translated, it reads:
binary gibberish (except to MS Mail ;^). The one I looked at had the
following strings in it:
Klarinet - Clarinettist's Network

KLARINET@-----.BITNET

KLARINET@-----.BITNET
'Klarinet - Clarinettist's Network'
