Leigh-Anne,

About Lurie reeds, for me they are too soft. With
the setup (mouthpiece and ligature) that I play on, even the strongest Lurie
reeds don't give me too enough resistance.

However, someone in the band here pointed out something to me the other day
that may make me change my tune, no pun intended.:) She and I both play on the
same brand moutpiece, and contour of the tip of the reeds was a much better
match for the that brand of mouthpiece than the Van Dorens that I use. Most of
the Van Doren reeds seem to be too small for along the tip. Does nayone on the
list have anything to say about this? Maybe if Luries came in a 9 or 10, they'd
work for me! :)
