For those of you who remember my asking for clarinet music for a
composition database:

The initial load of the database is nearing completion (basically I'm
ALMOST caught up with the inital submissions and corrections). I should
have that first load done by this coming weekend. There are currently
1286 composers and 2396 pieces on file (and I thought that at most
I'd get 200 pieces ;^) This is going to be a never-ending task, but
it's fun (and mind-numbing sometimes).

Anyway, to come to the next piece of data I'd like to add to the
database: a "grade" level to the compositions. Possibly something like
H2 for the general ability of a sophomore in High School, U2 for
undergrad sophomore, and G for graduate level? Possibly something more
sophisticated, differentiating between Technical difficulty and
Musicality (the Gymnopedie' come to mind - at least on piano they are
technically low intermediate - my level - but musically quite
difficult)?

Before I ask for grading, I'd like to get ideas from teachers and
performers on a usable grading system.

Thanks,
--
