Laura
I played clarinet and saxophone throughout my youth. Attended The high
School
of Performing Arts and was a clarinet major at Julliard for a year. I played
sax
and clarinet in the Navy for 2 years and played sax and clarinet
professionally
for two years, attended the Manhattan School of lMusic for an additional year
and then like you quit completely. It was a decision I regretted my entire
life.
About four years ago I started playing again. It 's amazing how much is
retained
even after so long a period of not playing. After all those years, I
remembered
almost every fingering on the saxophone, clarinet and the flute. The biggest
problem for me has been endurance. I am now playing First Clarinet in two
concert bands and occasionaly get to do some orchestra playing. I now
practice every day. Don't do like I did. You could be back in shape in a
couple of months .

Good luck,
Marty Marks
