Frank,
I've been an Ivo fan for years. He is but one of an awesome
number of fabulous clarinet and sax players from Bulgaria and Macedonia.
Another amazing player is Ferous Mustafov. Unfortunately, all these
wonderful players' recordings are not available in the US. I have heard
them on dubs from a friend who has traveled to the Balkans. Incidentally,
Yuri Yanakov (sp?), the sax player on Ivo's recordings, is living in New
York right now and gives occasional sax lessons to the sax player in my balkan
band, BAMCo. If you are interested you might try to look him up.
