-->Why don't we have a survey and see how many list members are cat owners
and
-->how many are dog owners!
OK.
Bill Fogle: 4 cats, 3 dogs, 2 cockatiels.
The dogs favor Mitchell Lurie reeds with a more open mouthpiece facing and a
metal ligature, they like jazz licks and a bright, upbeat tone placement.
The cats prefer a dark sound, and lunge for the clarinet when the
stratospheric bars of Brahms' sonatas are assayed. They know flexibility is
important, but not at the expense of richness. They know a 4.5 from a 4 reed.
They know a mouthpiece from a toy. The cockatiels enjoy music foremost, and
feel the performer and instrument are secondary. Sound is relative and tone
is difficult to define.
