Subj: Who's Donizetti??? (I think that's how you spell it)

Hi all! Well, my school's already getting ready for spring concert,
pretty weird, huh? And this year we're trying to put in music from around the
world. Some guy in the orchestra suggested a Chinese piece called the
Butterfly Concerto for violin or something. I heard it on CD and I was like
WOW! But, then they had to make that a pass since as far as we know, no one
in the orchestra can play that piece. You just got to hear this piece.

One of my school's Italian teachers said she heard a piece by Donizetti
a long, long time ago, and it was clarinet solo and asked if I can play it. I
was like, who's Donizetti??? I've never heard any clarinet piece from him,
nor do I know who he is. Anyone can help?

I know, some one's going to email me and go like, "have you heard
Rossini's Intro. Theme, and Var.." Yes I have. I'm having trouble with it.
The 4th and 5th measure of variation 2 is killing me, can anyone help on that
too? Like alternate fingerings, umm, I tried every combination of alternate
fingerings I know. It doesn't seem to help.

musically
yours,

Patrick
Kwan
