Klarinet Archive - Posting 000223.txt from 1996/12
From: "Dan Leeson: LEESON@-----.EDU> Subj: New repertoire (to me at least) Date: Mon, 9 Dec 1996 23:30:43 -0500
Not 5 minutes ago I was reading messages on the internet when I began
to pay attention to my radio, for what I was hearing was an extended
work for clarinet, bassoon and orchestra. My first reaction was that
it was a romantic work dating from ca. 1810 but one never is sure.
I stopped work and concentrated on the (to me) unknown composition
admiring both the players and the composition itself.
After completion, the announcement stated that what I had just
heard was Eddie Brunner and Klaus Thuneman playing Danzi's
Concertino in B-flat. Terrific piece. Never heard of it before.
Anyone else know it?
