About Morre (the "e" has an acute accent) reeds: I thought Marks =
stopped carrying them about two years ago. I heard a barely credible =
story that Morre had retired and destroyed all his tools so no one could =
replicate his reeds. Can anyone shed light on this story or on the =
availability of Morre reeds?

My dog Smudge, an intelligent silver micro-poodle (without poufs), has =
become increasingly distressed as she reads the email from this list. =
She is astonished at the outpouring of support for cats (after I =
reported that Smudge had eaten my Kaspar mouthpiece). She asks me to =
tell you the following.

First, every dog gets one bite (it says so in the dog bite law). Smudge =
had her one bite and has been good ever since. But judging from what =
people on this list say, cats are entitled to innumerable bites and =
scratches, not just on clarinets but also on clarinettists, even to the =
point of drawing blood. And cats make lots of clarinettists sneeze (is =
that where the name "sneezy" comes from?). Who, Smudge asks, could love =
an animal like that? Smudge reminds us that basset horns are named =
after dogs, and suggests that those of you vainly searching for basset =
horns should get basset hounds instead -- they're more readily available =
(try your local pound) and more fun to play (with).=20

Second, in an act of contrition, Smudge has offered to buy me a new =
Kaspar (Chicago) mouthpiece. Is it conceivable that anyone has one for =
sale? Respond to Smudge c/o GY. Arf!
