Klarinet Archive - Posting 000161.txt from 1996/12
From: jjarvie@-----.NZ Subj: Re: Two clarinets and band - MORE INFORMATION Date: Sat, 7 Dec 1996 00:00:01 -0500
My first message shows how unreliable memory can be!
The town wasn't Dresden but Leipzig.
The record is Koch/Scwann 3-1067-2, Cindy & Don Chrsitensen with the
Rundfunk-Blasorcheter Leipzig conducted by Motti Miron, recorded 1991
Items: Krommer Concertante Op. 35 transcribed by Crusell
Anonymous - Introduction and variations on a theme of Mozart
Iwan M ller - Concertante op. 23, transcription anonymous
All the above for 2 clarinets and military band
The CD also includes Reissiger (solo) Concertino op. 63 transcribed by CJ M rd
The liner gives no clue to the publishers.
Hope it helps!
John

Sorry for the delay in posting a response to this message.
I don't have the information to hand because I'm writing from work, but I have a
CD of 2 clarinet and band performances at home. From memory, this was made by
an American husband and wife living and working in Dresden. They play
Oehler-style instruments. The band is a full-time professional ensemble in the
European "Harmonie" tradition.
The only piece I remember on the CD is an arrangement of the Krommer concerto
for 2 clarinets. I saw a post the other day saying there are 2 of these, this
was the common one I've heard and have in a Musica Rara edition.
I'll try to post more information at the weekend.
