Subj: Clarinet and Cats

My cat runs up the stairs when she sees the case coming out.... both for
me and my wife. Cats ears are very sensitive to high frequency energy,
according to my cat book, and the clarinet is rich in upper partials.
Maybe she thinks it's a violin and doesn't want to become part of the
equipment.

I had a series of parakeets as a kid, and they loved the clarinet sound!
Petie would perch on my glasses and chew my ear while I practiced.
Maybe he (I think) was trying to tell me something. These birds also
liked the taste of reeds, and frequently would destroy my best one just
before a concert.
