Given the non-surgical treatment options now available for snoring, the
surgical
approach is reserved for the more drastic cases which involve sleep apnea,
etc.
Reducing the size and girth of the uvula will very likely cause changes in
phonation( especially if you make your living speaking as does one of my
patients who is a meteorologist with one of the local TV stations). It is
also likely
that, since there will be alterations to air flow and air volume, there could
be
changes to intonation, etc. Unfortunately, one cannot predict changes to
voice
or clarinet playing in any reliable manner at this time.
