1. Has anyone tried the new Greg Smith Mouthpiece...any =
comments?

Jen: I've been playing a Greg Smith since early this year (I got it =
from Geri Grine in Oshkosh as a Christmas present). It is superb -- =
consistently good sound across registers, works unusually well with my =
dwindling stock of Morre reeds and lesser brands as well, and gives a =
nice full dark tone. I highly recommend it. It is the closest thing =
I've found to the Frank Kaspar mouthpiece I got with my first wood =
clarinet in about 1952, from Kaspar's store in the Loop, which my dog =
ate in 1993 when I inadvertently left it sitting out (the mouthpiece, =
not the store). (I experimented with Gigliotti P and 2 in the interim.) =
As you may know, Smith has a web site; I think the URL is =
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepag. It has information on how he =
makes the mouthpieces.
