Re the list being developed of jazz clarinettists to listen to from
the 30s and 40s.

I have a wonderful CD: "Clarinet Marmelade: 25 Jazz Clarinettists.
Original Mono Recordings from 1918-1943". About 76 minutes.
ASV Living Era AJA 5132. Bought at Sam the Record Man in Canada
a year or so ago.

It's great for listening to the breadth of tone and expression that was
used, and for deciding whose recordings you *absolutely have to* get more
of. (I challenge anybody to remove the dangling participle without making
the sentence longer)
