Listen to recordings by Buddy DeFranco, Tony Scott, John Carter and Eddie
Daniels. Transcribe and memorize your favorite solos. Get Jamie
Aeberschold's play-along CDs and have a go in the privacy of your own
space, once you have some facility with all the major and minor scales. If
you didn't grow up listening to this music, you'll have to do a pretty
total immersion to make up for lost time.
