Subj: clarinet in BEFA???
Date: Sat, 23 Nov 1996 19:15:24 -0500

Hi everyone
Firstly, thanks for all the responses regarding pieces for 2 clarinets and
orchestra. I can get a copy of the Krommer concerto at my university (the
clarinet parts anyway + piano) so hopefully it will all work out.
Now another question - In another orchestra we are going to be playing
"Parigi, o cara" from La Traviata. At the beginning it says "in DO" which I
presume means we have to transpose. But, later it says "in BEFA", then even
later, back "in DO". So what the heck does BEFA mean?? I've asked some other
people ion the orchestra and noone seems to know. We haven't actually played
it yet so I don't know how it sounds if we do or don't transpose it. Can
anyone help out?
Thanks in advance,
Linda
