I snap it into segments while green, roll up some newspaper, slip
it in, and lay it on a window ledge or somewhere like that. If it
shrivels and crumbles, and has long sprouts growing out of the
segments, then it's some other kind of fern and not the horsetail
fern that it "dutch rush." Burch
