Funny, you should ask this. A friend and I are doing an independent study next
semester on German music during the Weimar period. We both thought it a good
idea
to get a good German to English music terminology dictionary, so I went to
Schoenhof's
in Harvard Square. They only had two music dictionaries with English/German.
One
was a big thick monster and was about $140, the second was a paperback that had
not
only German/English but also French and Italian as well. It was also $30, so I
brought it back to college with me. Both my friend and I find it absolutely
wonderful, since it gives all of the words you could ever possibly think of
using
in a musical context in all four languages in a fairly easy manner to find.
The
publisher is: R Piper Gmbh & Co. Kg and their address is: Postfach 430861
80738 Muenchen
Germany
You could also just order it from Schoenhof's, who do a large mail order service
in the states. If you need more info, feel free to just ask.
