They are in a narrow plastic tube which runs the length of the case,
between the two slots for reeds. There are tiny holes on the tube.

They are granular, about the size of largish sea-salt crystals.

Dessicant cookies, *YUM*. I'd watch the sugar crystrals on top of cookies
