I know there used to be some people with GMU e-mail addresses on this
list, so I was waiting for one of them to respond. Nobody did, so I felt
obligated because I live within a few miles of GMU and played in the
orchestra there for 15 years (until a new conductor decided to use only
students and no community members).
Anyway, I didn't know the answer (like many universities, GMU uses a lot
of adjunct faculty for instrumental music), so I decided to browse the GMU
web site. I found the following:
----------
Sharon J. Bonneau (clarinet)-B.M. and B.M.E., Eastman School of Music;
M.A., George Mason University; clarinetist, U.S. Air Force Band
Lora R. Ferguson (clarinet)-B.M., Oberlin Conservatory; M.M., The Catholic
University of America; clarinetist, Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra
Joseph M. Kanyan (clarinet)-See listing under Administration
Joseph M. Kanyan, Associate Chair-B.S., Indiana University of
Pennsylvania; M.M., D.M.A., The Catholic University of America; former
clarinetist, U.S. Army Band
----------
To learn more about the George Mason University music program, point your
web browser at http://www.gmu.edu/ and follow the links through academic
departments to the music department.
