Hmm.. I am curious. I have a buffet that was manufactured in 1946. (I just
checked the email I had gotten back from the kind folks at Buffet)
According to the guy who last did some work on it, it is "a pre-R13". Is
this different from the "original R13" and what is the difference. I know
mine has a smaller bore than the modern R13; was it ever narrower
pre-1950? I am also a little confused as to the effect the bore has on the
clarinet; why was it narrower, than wider, and now being narrowed again?
Is this just the popular theory of the day? If so, I'm feeling quite good
about myself right now by buying used.. :)
