Subj: Louis Spohr Clarinet Concerto #1

Easy question for my clarinetist friends:
I heard the Spohr Clarinet Concerto #1 today for the first time on
the radio. I thought it was a completely marvelous work, even though
the orchestra & clarinetist who performed it weren't all that good IMHO.
Why isn't this work performed more often or more widely known? Is
there something I'm missing?
