Fellow Clarinetists:
We have been receiving a large number of email messages asking for more
information about the Buffet Vintage Model clarinets. I would like to take
this opportunity to tell those of you interested in them about the clarinets.
If you have any further questions please feel free to email me directly, as
we do not have time to monitor this forum. Our email address is:

The Vintage Model clarinets have been in development for sometime. I believe
I tried the first prototype about 3 years ago. In years past Buffet has made
changes to the well know R13. I believe their current policy is to rename
any instrument they change so that the consumer knows what they are getting.
A good policy in my opinion.

A few weeks ago we received the first part of our order. We have a good
selection of them and a lot of interested people. This past week we met with
a number of professional players and each of us played the instruments for
the others to hear. We all agreed that they are remarkably consistent. We
also agreed that the sound was even and tuning was very good with a variety
of mouthpieces. They have that beautiful sparkle in the sound that many of
the older Buffet clarinets had before they were worn out. There are two
barrels included with each instrument with different bores. One of the
barrels is very similar to our own Muncy barrel. For those of you tech nuts
out there you may email me personally to get those specifications. The wood
on all of these instruments we have in our inventory is perfect and
unstained. All of the clarinets are silver plated w/adjustable thumb rest,
and no metal tenon caps and no left hand Eb/Ab lever. I have fully adjusted
each instrument personally. They come in a double leather case. I am now
playing on one myself. I felt comfortable enough to perform on one this past
week. I am quite impressed with the quality. If any one is interested in
these please feel free to email me directly.

I do not intend this to sound like an advertisement. I want my fellow
clarinetists' to know about these new clarinets we have in stock. Muncy
Winds is proud to be the first in the United States to introduce the Vintage
clarinets to our clients.

Thank you for your time and interest.
