The Rossi Clarinet is truly a remarkable instrument. ANyone interested in
this instrument for auditioning for a major orchestra job should seriously
consider the politics of owning a non-standard orchestral instrument. It
seems to me that the whole section would have to play Rossi's for them to
blend in the orchestra. For
soloing, I would highly recommend this instrument (anyone with any doubt
need only to refer to Jonathan Cohler's enthusiastic recommendations:).
Rossi clarinets are very hard to come by, when I met with Rossi in
Santiago, he said there was an extensive wait list because of his
incredible craftmanship, plan early for your order!
