Freeze the clarinet to -300F.
Put it in a zip-lock plastic bag under vacuum.

Seriously, though, there was an extensive discussion on this just recently.
If you can access the archives, there was some interesting advice!

(Just a thought: perhaps we should capitalize The Archives - it makes it
sound so much more all-knowing and powerful! Or come up with a euphenism:
The One Who Remembers All???)
