Sean - I've tried putting corks on the screw side of my inverted Bonade,
but that changed the feel of the ligature in a substantial and unwanted
way. Try a bit of tape on the back of the mpc, right where the top of the
ligature rests. I use some clear insulation tape, which is thicker and
stickier than regular clear cellophane tape. Or, if you don't mind
defacing your mpc a little, rough up that area of the mpc with some fine
sandpaper. I chose the tape route. Also, try the silver plated version of
the Bonade - I find the plating makes a difference that I like. Of course
you'll have to mortgage the family farm, but hey, it's for the clarinet,
so why not! You can get these from Weiner or Muncy - I believe they each
do the plating "in house".
