I hadn't planned to convert K. 622 for computer synthesis for a long
time mainly because I have been having so much fun discovering
clarinet literature that I didn't know existed. As luck would have it
a couple of weeks ago I discovered a MIDI file on the Web with the
first two movements of K.622 stuck together in the same file (and
mislabelled I and III), so I downloaded them, imported them into Finale
and touched them up a bit. Wellll, I mean, what can one do with just
the first two movements of K. 622? So I scanned the third movement
and converted it.

I'm not particularly happy with the accompanying instrument assignments
I chose (violin, viola and cello), but you folks can do what you like
with that. The MIDI key is appropriate for A clarinet, but you Bb holdouts
(like me) need only to shift everything up a half step.

It turns out that importing a MIDI file into Finale often results in more staves
than tracks because, as I understand it, high notes in the bass clef are
put in an extra treble clef and low notes in the treble clef find their way
into an extra bass clef. I used to tear my hair out shifting everything back
until I decided to leave them there and get creative about my instrument
assignments. My army of accompanists now includes silicon buddies
who play blown bottles and musical saws! Anyway, moving right along,
the .MUS and MIDI files are now available on my Web page:

Happy playing!
