That is kind of true what Joie Canada said. I'm in High School and had been
in numerous bands. I remember two years ago my City-Wide band was to perform
at Carneigie Hall and when we first learned most of the music, our clarinet
instructor told us to slur all the notes and play all the notes right first
and leave out all dynamics and tonguings. Weird thing is that some of the
third-second clarinets and even a few first clarinets did that during the
concerts. They got the notes all right but no tonguing, no dynamics. So it's
not really only the students' fault maybe some on the teachers too.
