The tape is available for rental from the publisher (Boosey & Hawkes) and it
is pretty expensive. I think the price is about $55. They ask the
performance date (The price you pay is per performance, at least legally.)
and they'll tell your friend how long he can have the recording and all of
the other details. Sorry, I don't have Boosey & Hawkes number right here.
There is always the option of recording the other parts yourself. It is a
big help to play with a machine which has an adjustible speed on the tape
player. (For some reason, some machines play slower or faster than they
should.) It was a little embarrassing and a lot frustrating to play with the
recital hall's machine in the dress rehearsal, in tune with the hall's piano
and my tuner, but mercilessly sharp to the tape...
