Linda,

I waited patiently after reading your message, confident that
someone would mention my favorite anodyne and thus make it unnecessary
for me to reply. But, since noone else mentioned the product -- it's
hard to believe I'm the only one on the list who uses them -- here's my
recommendation. I refer to the LeBlanc "Lip Savers," which are
wax-like strips sold commercially in enlightened music stores in pre-cut
peelable pads of, say, 30 to 40 strips.

I also had an acrylic cover molded for my lower teeth like
Everett Austin did, but my teeth must have moved around enough from day to
day so that, although the protection was as advertised, I found wearing it
uncomfortable and returned to the Lip Savers. Perhaps, as Everett
reports, the soft cushiony material might work better.
