As a community band bass clarinet player, I am amused by all the nattering
about good reeds and bad reeds. I simply treat store bought reeds as prefab
blanks and adjust them to suit myself. If I worried about how many good
reeds I got in a box, I wouldn't be playing clarinet. There are so many
variables with the cane that as long as none are split, I am happy. (My
preference is Vandoren reeds).
