Well said. Thank you. I guess I sort of knew that, yet I tend to see a
conductor from my own viewpoint; I and the other amateur musicians I play
with need a clear downbeat and a clear ictus. Often we don't find it.

I will watch future concerts with a new perspective regarding the lack of
a beat and a clear ictus. Not needed, rather what is needed is to bring
out the soul of the music. Right?
