I happened to have the clarinet with me and tried it before I responded -
on the thumb-F, only the pinky can be left down. Any other right hand
finger had a very noticeable effect on both pitch and tone. I can't speak
for any other clarinet, I suppose, but at least on mine, the F is ruined
by any right hand holes being covered.
