I don't know of any software designed, specifically, to teach counterpoint but
in the 80's, a keen group of British teachers and programmers developed a
number of, very promising, music education programmes for the humble BBC micro.
Sadly, funding was not forthcoming to launch many of them, commercially, and
few people know of them. Colin Wells, then Manager of the Microtechnology in
Music Education Centre at Reading University, UK, authored some software that
could be used to teach counterpoint, at a simple level. I don't know whether
you are looking for software to buy or are interested in the principles of
software design. If the latter, Colin can be contacted at the following
address:

I have a professional interest in music education software and would be happy
to discuss it via personal email, if you or anyone else is interested.

Best wishes
Audrey
