Okay, last night I watched the opening night from Carnegie Hall concert with
Abbado leading the Berlin Philharmonic on PBS. So who is the blond-mopped
fellow playing first clarinet?

Two general observations open for comment:

The camera shots during the 2nd symphony seemed very careful to exclude
recognizable shots of the doublers in the wind sections. They had 4 of
everything, but you'd think there were only two from the camera work.

Abbado's stick was well in advance of the sound (not too unusual) but it
seemed to me that the musicians were studious in avoiding looking at the
Maestro at all! Didn't notice more than a very rare _peek_ at the stick.

Cheers,
Steve
