Neil Leupold asks, about Tom Ridenour's fingering book - (cut) - "What on
earth makes it worth $12?"

This book is not an overall fingering chart for the clarinet. It lists the
following:

1. A variety of resonance fingering for the throat tones.

2. Fingerings which use the RIGHT thumb on the side keys (to be used when
seated), including the throat Bb and notes from C3 to G3.

3. Notes from B2 to E4. With the notes from B2 to A#3, each fingering is
discussed in terms of intonation, useful dynamic range, timbre, use in slurs
and literature usage suggestions. Obviously not all these are covered for
every fingering. For each note in this range anywhere from 8 to more than
20 fingering are given.

How useful it is depends on what you already know. In my case it has been
quite helpful. The book has about 50 pages.
