Hi,

My name is Christine and I'm new to the list this year. Thanks for all
the helpful hints and interesting discussions, they have been GREAT!

Some fingering questions came at my community band rehearsal last week
and I thought I would ask the group:

1) In one song we have alternating eighth notes of first space F to
third space C. Is there an easier way to play this combination then
the thumb for F and then grabbing all the keys to play C?

2) In another song we need to trill second line A flat to third line B
flat. Is there an easier way than using the G sharp key and the B flat
fingering using the octave and A keys?

3) I have noticed some discussion about Tom Ridenour's fingering book
- would this book be of use in the questions I asked above? Is this
something I should look into, are there other books out there for
alternative fingering?

You can either reply to me directly or to the list.

Thanks in advance,
Christine - boos@-----.edu
