Sensing we all need a bit of a break from our usual serious fare, I submit
the following:

Guide to Musical Notation

f as loud as you can play
ff louder than you can play
fff for effect only - designated to induce vomiting
mf does not require *presence* in sound, tone not important
p only the last half of a tone should sound with this marking under it
pp for effect only, should be no tone, only air
dim. indicates tone should die out halfway through passage
cresc. indicates tone should gradually spread
// or G. P. indicates you will play solo here
solo indicates tone should quaver, pitch should wander
soli reference for finding your place if lost
rubato stop playing
tempo I indicates time will soon fall apart, pick your own speed
pesante play naturally

Enjoy !
