Dan L. asked about modern clarinetists in Italy. I checked a recording by an
Italian group, "Quintetto Arnold", and found the clarinetist, Maurizio
Longoni, to be fine by most any standard - tone, technique or musicianship.

Unfortunately there is no personal or professional information on any of the
musicians. It is certainly an all-Italian production, with music by
Briccialdi and Carulli, recorded in Milan and the balance of the quintet are
Renato Rivolta, Francesco Pamarico, Ettore Bongiovanni and Leonardo Dosso.
