I would just like to say thank you to all the people who suggested some
good trios. I thought that all of you might want to know about how we
liked the trios you suggested and others that we came across.

My favorite one that we are playing is called "La Grenouille
Pesomptuese" (The conceited frog) It's byDimitri Tapkoff. I think that it's
a pretty cute piece. The instruments play the roles of several different
characters in the piece such as the clarinet represents an owl. And as
we play, there is someone acting as a narrator and reading a story of
the conceited frog. The only bad part about this piece is that the clarinet
has to double on the bass clarinet. Don't get me wrong...I have nothing
against it but I just sound really bad on it. I guess I just need to practice
more on it.

Another one we liked is called Russian Suite and it's five small pieces by
Vassily Barvinsky and Dmitri Kabalevsky. All it is is five little descriptive
pieces. (the first movement is called "A light rain" ) The whole suite is
pretty easy but we liked it because it would be a good piece to play in
front of young kids because the melodies were pretty cute and they
were not very long.

The oboeist and the flutist really liked the next piece...Sonatina by Kulau.
(Arranged by Whitney Tustin) The only reason why I didn't like it is
because of the fingering in the clarinet part. But otherwise, it is a nice
piece .

Sorry I didn't go into much explanation about them. I do not know the
exact reasons why I like them but oh well/ Thanks again.
