Wow Derek! And I've been whipping myself with a string ligature for using
4.0s, in the light of the debate about open facings and softer reeds. I've
been
reflecting upon methods of sawing open my 1-mm tip openings and generally
feeling blue. I know that Roger Shilcock, if he's out there, will be amazed
at your reed strength. I still say there's a sound agreed upon (unconsciously)
by good players, who arrive there using many different set-ups. -----Bill F.

I'm not all that amazed at no. 5 V12s. I've been buying V12 no.3s, and
there are a few too many in the box
which are on the soft side for me - though the ratio of useful to total
rubbish is amazingly good compared with the "standard" Van Dorens.
