Please David and others, let's keep the tone of this discussion civil and
non-threatening; no-one is maligning teachers or whatever, just tossing
about points of view. The angry tone seems a little unwarranted by the
subject matter; people are dying in wars the world over, and we're flaming
each other over what the jaw might do for altissimo notes. I've been
taught both "schools of thought", and it seems more about what an
individual's perception is of their playing habits than anything else;
both teachers had fine altissimo control. [no flames please].
