I agree with Don Gross...when you're doubling,tripling, or even
fourpling in the pit, the Rico plasticoat, or a fibrecane or other
synthetic is the way to go. No startup problems...those fibrecane
reeds can be adjusted like a real reed, and they don't change on you.
They're not as good as your "good" reed, of course, and they are a
bit pricey, but when you have two bars in which to change horns,
they're worth every penny. My $0.02 worth. Burch
